Is there a way of changing the stage color of an swf by script ?
Or is the only alternative to make a MC (the problem is that the size of the swf isn't fixe and not even in an html file.

come on...

if the swf has a transparent background and you have an action that tells the html to change backgroudn, then i dont see a problem.
- PuFFi0
the problem is that I don't have it in an html page...

got it, im not sure about the stage color, but i know that its possible to do something, so im gonna bump this in case a guru spots this thing.

cant you just make a layer the size of the exported movie and change the tint on it? maybe Im missing something.

make the background a seperate layer add actionscripting to keyframe to change the folor of the object?
- PuFFi0
NO, because the size of the swf isn't fixe... damn.
- ILuvSushi0
ok.
- PuFFi0
With layer you mean a MC ? or can you change the color of a layer ?
- mrdobolina0
make it absolutely huge then.
- PuFFi0
I was thinking of it but I thought there was a better way... Hope keeps alive even with Flash
- ILuvSushi0
The layer would basically contain a drawing of a rectangle covering the canvas of the swf..

So do you know if the stage.onresize works with just an swf and can you get the size of the stage after the resize ?

see, theres some kind of swf browser you can code, the source is some were online.
so you can make this expandable swf flash movie, have a mc there that changes colors wich expands with the movie and then kind of if it was like in front of the movie, have your movie that doesnt rezise.
something like that, ive seen it, i have just never used it.
or, you can have a fullscreen, no border html with transparent flash in it and save your self looking for this thing.
is this for a cd rom or something?

I don't really know how it's going to be used in some kind of a software, but all I know is that I can't use the html...
But I got a work around, with the stage thing, So I get the size of the stage (height and weigth) and I set it to a movie clip on the lowest layer (it's color is changed by an external txt)
so I need to creat a dynamic MC now and clean up the code so I can show it to you (get a feedback)

here's something i use on occassion:
var current_layer = 1;
left = 0;
top = 0;
width = Stage.width;
height = Stage.height;
right = left + width;
bottom = top + height;_root.createEmptyMovieClip("bg", ++current_layer);
with (this.bg) {
beginFill(0x006600, 100);
moveTo(left, top);
lineTo(right, top);
lineTo(right, bottom);
lineTo(left, bottom);
lineTo(left, top);
endFill();
}just draws a box...

which of course you could then easily control the color of
