There is a scientific debate about the limits of science.
Our current limits of observation and how theory has detached itself from experiment in modern physics.

Quantum Mechanics, String Theory and Matter Antimatter models are not proven at all, and maybe never will be.

    • But if they ever will be, I guarantee it will be due to the scientific progress. Just like all progress made by mankind in the last couple millennia.monospaced
    • There is no other method, and never will be one, that we will can use to figure it out. No other institution exists to tackle these questions.monospaced
    • Therefore it’s not a belief system.monospaced
    • Anyway. Saying quantium theory can’t be proven is useless. Quantum mechanics are real, happening and measurable. Like gravity, also can’t be proven. still theremonospaced
    • So, quite a lot like gods then ;)Morning_star
    • Nope. Gods can’t be observed, measured, tested, verified like gravity. Gravity is there, so are quantum mechanics. Gods are myth and no more.monospaced
    • Anyway. Just because one of a billion scienctific theories is shaky is not an argument in favor of supernatural child stories about childish gods.monospaced
    • I think the most scientific way to look at it is to acknowledge that we don't know much at all yet, but we are looking at it and have some ideas about ituan
    • Yes. That is the scientific method. Science will allow us to look into it and figure it out. Nothing else will or can or ever has.monospaced
    • I also think that the true meaning of religions was to liberate humans through spirituality, but that mission got corrupted in history to accumulate power...uan
    • ...and to control humans.
at the bottom of spirituality you find humanistic principles that make our lives and our societies better.
      uan
    • well, then it was corrupted from the onset, as you'd be hard pressed to find anything liberating or disconnected from power in western religionmonospaced
    • liberate humans through spirituality??? fuck me.futurefood
    • religion came from a group of pricks with silly hats asking, 'how do we monetize this?'futurefood
    • Gosh Futurefood, please enlighten us more with your awesome insight.Morning_star
