I ditched my MBP and am on the verge of getting the surface book 2. It's not cheap but it is cheaper than a MBP with better spec. And education pricing is easy to come by. Plus, you get a tablet, which for the similar spec would be an extra 1k on top of the mbp.

I like the ease of apple OS but I'm bored of it and instead of it developing it seems to be lost. Windows isn't as slick looking but it gets things done the same / better in some cases. The one thing that is stopping me at the moment is that I use google for everything, and a swap to windows would really be better with a swap to microsoft too. Google really need to make a good pixelbook that supports adobe, then I'm done.

    • I've been using computers for 35 years and I can't get my head around the concept of becoming 'bored by an OS'. Sounds like it's doing its job, in that case...detritus
    • 35 years here too. I like new tech and change not same tech. Most would agree with you I'm sure, but I like to see what else there is.craigatkinson
    • Windows is still ugly as hell...unfortunately :/yuekit

    • yes, needs tidying. Apple are v good at making stuff look good along with over simplifying in some areascraigatkinson
    • For file browsing and organization, OS X is far superior to windows.monospaced

    • thought you could get adobe products on chromebooksjaylarson
    • I don't think so, not full versions anywaycraigatkinson
    • The overall aesthetic of Windows still makes me feel like I'm trapped at a company meeting in a shitty cubicle office building.yuekit
