My cohort at school created a Facebook group for our year a while back. The same cliques that existed at school still exist online...it's pretty funny. I'm not particularly close with any of them.
When I'm alerted that it is someone's birthday, I generally write on their timeline and wish them a good day.
On my birthday, I'd maybe get 2 or 3 max from the group writing on my timeline.
So fuck it...I'm going to be a bitch and not extend birthday wishes to anyone from that group that hasn't extended the same courtesy to me.
It's like going back to year 9 at school!
- can you imagine growing up w social media? i would have killed myselfhotroddy
- you were not very popular then... you're right, fuck it!!OBBTKN
- LOL no I wasn't very popular. It's so funny...most of the guys who were dicks at school are still dicks! Probably me included.BusterBoy
- A few years ago I stopped sending FB birthday messages entirely. If we aren't close enough to send in a pre-existing text thread of some kind (or in person, ha)i_monk
- then it won't mean much to them and doesn't feel particularly sincere anyway.i_monk
