Having scored big this year I think of selling my e46 325i and reward myself with an e92 M3 or maybe, just maybe a Porsche 997.
Thoughts? I have always been interested in cars. Growing up in rather normal conditions I never even thought that I could once have the possibility of owning such a car. I love the Porsche but I'm afraid of actually owning one - no one knows that I have made a bit of money. I would like to keep it that way.
- go Porschedocpoz
- Lease or purchase?fadein11
- Purchase used, these are around 8-10 years old.mekk
- well, i dont know where you live, but over here owning one of those car mean: "that dude makes a lot of money"Ben99
- Yeah, that's a problem with the 997 but the BMW looks more normal. Thought of getting a cheap car for everyday but that would be the ultimate first world probmekk
- On the other hand, coworkers thought I am a super rich snob for buying that 325 I have now because it's in very good condition and looks like new.mekk
- EVERYONE, MEKKKKK IS FUCKN LOADED,
BRING ON THE HARPOOONS !!!georgesIII - Can I borrow $40?pinkfloyd
- Skip the car; go on an adventure, instead.karj
- lol Ben, here in Dallas those cars are pretty much all over the place.Maaku
- what year(s)? are you buying new?iCanHazQBN
- Just traded in my 997 the other day. Very glad that I bought it and got to experience it. May get a turbo one day. Great cars and very reliable!SteveJobs
- lol, "I wanna buy a Porche but I don't want people to know I can afford it."Milan
- get a tesla. that's the real midlife thing todo now.uan
- my cousin just bought a tesla. very nice interior.Gnash
- Actually Milan that makes sense. I'm not showy but I love certain things that are considered as such and this is one thing you can't easily enjoy conservativelySteveJobs
- In that price range, you should think about a Cayman S too. You can get one 4-5 years newer than the 997 for the same money.section_014
- Yes but it's a Cayman. They are engineered well, admittedly, but it's still not the full 911 experience. Just my opinion obviously.SteveJobs
- Calculate maintenance costs. My opinion is never by or lease used luxury cars unless u got deep pocketsHayoth
- I'll second the Cayman S. Unless you really are snobby about it, it's a superb Porsche.
I've had an M3 for a while now, it's been perfect.formed - Get the Techart kit for the Cayman S, looks better than a stock 911
http://gtspirit.com/…formed - shortly after I bought a bike I realized the Porche was the stupidest thing I ever boughtmoldero
- I reckon u can't avoid people making assumptions with these cars, but with a Porsche at least it won't be that you work in sales.MrT
- mekk have you test driven the car that you want to have? how does it make you feel? ...go from there.bklyndroobeki
- To answer your questions; They will be around €25K, I have test driven both and they feel great, like all expensive sports cars I assume.mekk
- I like the Cayman too, the thing is - it's better than the 911, mid-engine, lighter, smaller. But they've dumbed it down so it's not faster than the 11 papermekk
