oh sh*t. RIP :( he will be missed.
i was a major, major special effects nut in high school and had all my fangorias an gorezones in neat piles and looked up to him, baker, savini, etc.
friends and i would film scripted, mini horror movies with blood squibs, blood-filled exploding foam heads we would film throwing out of our house windows and off local parkades, etc. much to the dismay of our neighbours.
i would dream of having the same bedroom as chainsaw in 'summer school'. and basically did with all my day of the dead and exorcist posters and video store cardboard stand ups of TCM2 Leatherface , makeup supplies, fake weapons, bags of gelatine and red food colouring, etc.
this was all thanks to being influenced by his amazing work. one of the greats.
