    ask yourself this... does it 'really matter' what she thinks is the norm? we are talking about you and your beer loving here...

    and btw, my wife says she's going out 'for a drink' with the girls and then somehow forgets that she gets hammered after two cosmo/martinis but proceeds to have 5 or 6 anyway because oh my my god there so good. i find this to be pretty standard behaviour with female humans in general.
