First, I'm not sure if the subject of filtography has been batted around by QBN folks, so my apologies for hijacking the thread. Second, @fredddddd, best of luck with your exploration of stereographic fun, and nice succinct response from @animatedgif.

@mikotondria3 ...so I'm checking out Flixel (similar to cinemagr.am) the other day, and while I appreciate them noting, "Inspired by Cinemagraphs," it left me with a beige vibe. The folks behind Cinemagraphs put time/effort into developing (crafting) something nifty, and now there are apps (convenience) which offer a similar result.

It would be wrong of me to shake my fist at the app developers because they are providing a convenient method of achieving results that a broad group can now create and enjoy. And it's hypocritical of me to complain because I utilize software on daily basis to replicate complex effects.

But I suppose I get annoyed by the ever-narrowing time window these days between when a crafted item hits the scene and when the first replication device is made available. That narrowing cuts down on the time to appreciate the original craft, and it potentially kneecaps curiosity from folks like @fredddddd. For me, it's a rock and a hard place because I enjoy the novelty, but I also appreciate the access for all.

I dunno. Punches for me for being a grump I guess.
