    a good backup plan always includes redundancy including a copy off site. what good is backing up to DVD, external HDs, etc, if your house burns down, or the robbers come?

    Dropbox and the like are awesome since it covers both the redundancy and theft but if you are trying to sync TBs of data, it becomes impractical. find some cheap externals and buy two of them. sync them using rsync or other means. take the 2nd drive to your work/buddy's/girlfriend's

    i'm looking at getting this to avoid a string of externals as time goes on.

    it's kinda like a drobo but way cheaper. i'd mirror it with the externals i currently own and take those to my parent's house.
