I'm in the process of moving a website to a new hosting service and i'm dealing with a ASP message board that needs to be kept (including messages, users etc).
We want to switch to PHP though and i have no experience whatsoever with message boards in general.

Any recommendations ?
I'd be happy to pay for it to be done if it guarantees no headaches.

how do you set your timeline in a way that whatever you move at the beginning of your edit doesn't move what's coming next ?

basically i have a 3 minute track i need to edit video to, i know what goes 2 minutes in the track so i take care of that right away, but then no matter what i do, editing the beginning of the track keeps pushing what i've done 2 minutes down the track.

so I'm moving from NYC to Paris, I don't have that much stuff left here now, 4-5 boxes and i'd like to bring some equipment too, display/scanner.

too much to carry with me but too little for movers.

any shipping options out there that would fit my needs ? I'm not familiar with shipping big stuff, just don't want to have to buy everything again in France or pay more than it would cost to do so to have it shipped.

So I'm editing this music video based on hand-drawn illustrations. The result will be 720x576 (PAL) and for more comfort the illustrator worked on 1080x864px big images (same ratio).

The FCP project was set to 1080x864 but once i import the images i get these 2 black areas on each side. Something is incorrectly set in the project's settings.

Current settings are :

Frame size : 1080x864 (Custom 5:4)
Pixel aspect : PAL - CCIR 601

the 5:4 seems to be the cause but apparently i can't have both 1080x864 and 4:3.

Any help is welcome!

i need an inspirational place to work on a project with a bunch of respectful people for 3 weeks and i'm starting to go crazy with the "crap" out there and the flower fabrics.

money's no object (someone else's paying, woohoo), just has to be big, bright, nice and furnished with 1 bdr, a terrace would be a huge +, and no partying or mass destruction will happen.

any leads are welcome, got no luck with craigslist and the likes, so i'm relying on connections or hidden luxury short term rental agencies.

I'm leaving for Tokyo on Wednesday for a week and need a Glidecam 4000 Pro there.

Problem : I'm still waiting for payments to go through and it doesn't look like I'll be able to buy (let alone find) one before I go.

Anybody in NYC willing to lend/rent his ? Has to be the 4000, I'm shooting with a Sony HDR-FX1 with a bunch of stuff on it.

FCP fullscreen playback Feb 4, 07, 1:44 a.m.

Hey guys, need a little help..

I can't seem to be able to choose my main (and only) display for fullscreen playback since i upgraded to 5.1

F12 combinations have no effect and i have no option showing up for video playback (None).

Any clue ?

Working on a closed macbook pro connected to a 30" if it makes any difference, used to work fine with FCP5

i'm thinking about combining a cintiq (http://www.flickr.com/photos/ch... not my pic but more excplicit than the wacom ones) with an apple display and was wondering if the os x system preferences allow for mutliple screens to be set on top of one another rather than one next to the other.
