We have a door in our office that opens outwards to reception. When I'm leaving the office and ladies are entering the office we often get to the door at the same time. There is a security swipe card on her side but not mine. The door also opens towards her.

What is the right thing to do!

Below is a diagram of said door.

* If I open the door so she doesnt have to swipe, I cant hold door open as it as I will have to walk past her.

* More often than not I open the door and then they hold it open for me. Feels all wrong.

Pretty sweet function with live ice sculpting and and decent cover band. Everyone was liquered up so made the shots easy.

Work says there is only budget for me to go on a junket OR a learning course.

The junket is a tech-ed expo in a different state, flying business class, 5 star hotel and all meals and drinks inc for 4 nights.

The learning is a 5 day microsoft sharepoint design course here in my city (classroom learning). We use sharepoint a fair bit here for intranet sites etc.

I keep getting asked to deploy sites to the production server and rollout new brand guidelines.

What they mean is upload the site onto the web.

WTF's with all the geek speak lately, I'm not a client, don’t make it sound harder than it is.

Anyone else getting a load of unnecessary lingo lately?

DIY Macbook stand Mar 25, 08, 12:33 a.m.

I would like to build a timber Macbook Pro stand to save room on my desk and help keep the thing cool when I am using it as a desktop with external monitor/mouse/keyboard. I have put an illustration together below to demonstrate what I have in mind.

My question is: will the optical drive accept disks properly when stood up on a stand like this or will it break the drive?

I'm looking for some basic audio software for chopping up some audio into smaller pieces. Dont mind paying, needs to work on pc, any ideas?

Quicktime pro isnt accurate enough, and pro tools is way too over kill. Dont mind paying for a cheap small audio app.

Working in Sweden Jan 5, 08, 8:45 a.m.

I have been doing some research on working in Sweden but haven't been able to find much information on salaries.

What does a general web designer make over there? I know it depends on location etc but I'm just after ball park averages.

I also know my folio isnt strong right now but I work for a large multinational company and I can present a decent folio in person.

Still learning Swedish but would need a English speaking job to start, do they exist? My wife is Swedish and I have English passport so a three month contract would be what I would look for.

And links or info would be greatly appreciated.

A few people have approached me about buying photographs from me over the last few months so I have decided to put a basic site up. I will only be selling like 50-60 photos at a time so I didn't think it was worth creating a full e-commerce monster.

Any feed back though would be much appreciated as now I'm thinking the site might be a bit toy?
