Indesign and overprinting Dec 11, 07, 1:05 a.m.

This is probably a stupid question (however i can't find a solution) but how the hell do i overprint a one-color image in indesign? I have two colours, black and a pantone colour. The text and illustrations (black) overprint nicely but the image (photoshop file, grayscale w/ a 100% K drawing) is not overprinted and cut out of the pantone plate. What am i doing wrong? How do i make it overprint? Any help is appreciated.

might be a dumb question (i can't find anything at macromedia's support) but can you embed opentype fonts in flash (shared library for dynamic content)? do you have to embed the entire otf or just parts of it?

if a contract says "artist represents that the work is entirely original and not copied from the work or property of any other person" and all the work done are collage oriented designs where most of it is my own stuff but i used some elements from other images (either scanned or photographed or found) but those elements are heavily modified. can i vouch for it? i think i can. am i right or wrong? (american contract btw). help's appreciated (don't want to get sued).

need a little help. got some flash xml issues.

take this test xml for instance:

the xml is used to generate a dynamic menu.

TEST is the menu name, the menu initially consists of A, B and C.

A.1, A.2 etc. will fold out on rollover.

problem: i need to figure out to what menu an item belongs in flash at a rollover. for instance when i rollover B.2.1 i need to know that it belongs to B.2 by using flash.

could be that from the ground up i coded it all wrong. any help is ofcourse appreciated a lot.

i have this photoshop file in cmyk and somehow it happened (no idea how) that all the black isn't just black but made up of a bunch of cmyk values and i need it to be pure black so it just show up in the black channel since i need to print it out on film for screenprinting purposes.

what's the best way to do this? fyi all that black is made up of the same cmyk combo (75 68 67 90) how do i get all these values into the black channel?

i'v read something similar before here, however i can't find the thread anymore.

any info / directions / help is appreciated a lot.

anyways, after the dreaded my lacie crashed on me thread from yesterday i'm thinking about buying an external dvd burner for my mac (OS9/OSX).

i'm thinking about a usb/fw combo but i'm lost in the jungle of terminology and the you can do that on a pc but not on a mac and vice versa pit of doom.

is it true that you can only burn - dvd's on a mac? no matter what burner you have? are these discs more expensive? and if it's only mac will these still be made in the future?

what is - + double layer etc?

and basically what is the best buy?

can you print 72 dpi screenshots in a magazine (thus hi-res) without changing the resolution (you only have to change the colourmode)? or do you have to convert it to 300 dpi as well?

anyways, i have this job i need to send over to the client and no matter how i save it, or export it, some gradients fuck up (doesn't show proper). flattened (transparancy) everything and no luck. it's just with this simple gradient. anyone got a clue?
