Creative Office Space Jun 4, 08, 7:20 p.m.

I'm looking for our first office this summer and I wanted to see if anyone has found a space that isn't a "typical" office type space and made it into a studio etc. Pictures, ideas, thoughts etc. I have found 2 spaces, one is actually over top of an automotive business. It's really open and the rent is cheap because of the garage below. I've thought about looking into it more just for the shear fact we don't have to worry about being to "loud".

We're doing a design right now that we'd like to use quotes no to drive home the idea of bravery. The client loves it, however, we have just considered the legal question.

If we use a quote by John Doe on their website, is that legal? We're using their words to promote something. Also, is there a difference if it's a living person in the same vertical (say an athlete and a football product website) and a deceased person like Benjamin Franklin?

Any ides where I can get more information on this? I'm obviously not using the right keywords in Google.

Font Weights + Flash Apr 21, 08, 6:45 a.m.

I still have never gotten a real answer to this question in the last 10 years so I'm asking again on as many forums as possible.

Why is it that with most OT format fonts, I have 100 weights show up in Illustrator and Photoshop but I only get a very small fraction of them to show up in Flash. It's killing me that we can't get this to work in Flash on our latest project. We really need some of the weights we mocked with and it's just not happening at the moment.

Does anyone know why this is and does anyone have a solution other than creating font outlined vectors and importing the text as art. We need this to work dynamically for news etc.

Does anyone remember seeing a blog post or article a bit back with a few people playing around with Flash projectors running over the course of multiple displays? I'm not talking about 2 or 3 but like say 10 projectors etc. I can't remember where I saw it. Else if you know of any good sources for developing graphics for display like this feel free to drop it like it's hot. THX

While this is "funny" and it will never happen, most of the facts in the about section are true. Most everyone here I would venture to say puts in more than 40 hours a week.. whether it's a day job at 50 or it's you doing extra freelance after hours, we all work to much. Man I finally coughed up some dough for software and Adobe is telling me CS3 will ship June 28th. WTF?? I bought the Master Collection...has anyone else bought anything? Is it June now because so many people have bought it??
