Was reading over the weekend about the game, it comes out November 10, 2009. I am pumped for this - read so much great stuff over the weekend.

I think we should take a vote here and see how many of us actually care about ending the onslaught of spam that is basically not going to go away unless major steps are taken. In the short term, closing QBN to new member should solve the problem.

If you are in favor of closing the site to new members, JUST POST "YES." This isn't a post that warrants conversation - if you want to talk about spam ,pros/cons, etc. use the Spammer Hotline thread. If enough of us are in favor of this, maybe that will draw QBN's attention. I'm really not trying to call out the QBN owners here, but like many of you I feel that our requests for ending spam are falling on deaf ears.

My GF and I were talking about this last night, and I figured it might be cool to have a full sleeve of patterned Victorian wallpaper, or cartographic lines of elevations.

Not that I would ever do that, just thought it would be interesting and not-the-norm.

I was going through some stuff recently and found this book, 72dpi, published back in 2000. I remember this being "the book to have" back in 2000/2001, but damn is the stuff in here out of date now.

I thought this was a really good read actually. I didn't know he had a site up to sort of explain how he does all the generative artwork, but the examples are cool, makes me wish I were using Flash as much as I used to (more like at all).

Interesting how he says he uses the Mac Mini for this stuff. I'm really curious about the actual load of those flash files on the Mini and how that compares to, say, a huge PS file on a PC.

Holy hell could you even imagine being stuck underground - 33 people - in a 500 square foot room, and know you might not get out for up to 4 months? They're getting food and some kind of health gel down a tiny 3 inch diameter hole from the surface. It's pretty riveting; I don't know how I'd manage to stay calm.

Long plane flights May 23, 06, 8:30 a.m.

What's the longest flight you've ever taken? Take any drugs to sleep most of the way? Get bored? ipod run out of juice?

As I've told some of you, I'm going to Tokyo in July, as in Chicago - Tokyo, 13 hour nonstop flight...

kind of feel like a kid - totally new experience and really anxious, wondering if when it's all said and done I'll be like "wow, that was a long time on a plane."

Any stories?

Credit card cut in half if declined at a restaurant.

Food put into duck shaped aluminum foil if taking it home from restaurant.
