What's the highest amount of $ you would be willing to spend on your 7-year old pet if you knew it would save their life for another 3-5 years. The highest amount you could justify to yourself knowing that if you didn't spend it, your pet could die literally any day now?

Going through some shit, man. Took care of this beast since we took it away from it's mom as a puppy. Hard to justify doing anything but 'everything we can' to save its life, but looking at that estimate... fuck me...

you ever finish that job and look at it and are just like 'that could have been better' but it was like an illustration / painting and doing it better means starting from scratch and you already spent way too much time on it already and have too much work breathing down your neck to justify doing better just for the sake of it? So then you just hope the client likes it but then you don't hear back from them right away and you start wondering if maybe they see it too and then you start stressing cuz the deadline is too soon and you have 10 more jobs to do but you cant stop thinking about it and it's driving you crazy so you end up watching fucking game show bloopers on youtube to take your mind off it and you start feeling like you actually have zero talent to begin with?

Has that ever happen to you?

Ive been using a piece of high quality textured cover stock on my Intuos5, cut to the size of the tablet area, and my fucking god it is so nice.

Its always the perfect temperature on my hand, even on a hot day (where the smooth surface would normally get damp / overly 'grippy' on my hand) and the texture on the pen tip is absolutely heaven.

If you haven't done this, i say try it. Im sure the texture of the paper is a big factor, so dont go taping some laser printer paper down, but i just wanted to say i highly recommend it.

What is it with clients who want to create an online community when they have absolutely ZERO plans for marketing or expansion of their content. Do they think just because you build a site that allows people to talk to eachother, that its just going to be full from day one and have rich engaging conversations? Why are so many entrepreneurs so delusional? Why am I so jaded? Is it because I have to listen to this bullshit time and time again?

Hey - any engineering geniuses want to help me brainstorm an idea to cover up a sandbox for the winter - Im kinda going for something a little less 'permanent' so technically my kid could even 'fold' or 'pull' or 'roll' the cover up himself without too much hassle (ie i toyed with the idea of a big wooden cover, but it would be too heavy to lift on/off all the time.)

I figured its a shot in the dark to ask you guys but you're the most creative crew i know aside from day to day peeps and i swear to god ive been thinking of this since the middle of summer and haven't been able to come up with jack shit.

I'd like to make something like the ipad smart cover so it folds up in pieces, but even that i cant think of a material that would be strong enough, but light enough once it's all stacked up ..

any genius ideas!?

why does my jingle making process suck?
I have to meet in two hours with my client and I don't have anything. It's for a bike shop and I'm trying to avoid all of the cliche things like singing about bikes, chain's, sprockets, etc.

I haven't even opened up audition yet. Just working on beats... trying to follow the same formula. I've totally wrecked my brain the past two days and I'm not recording anything on it :/

Its neat to see some of the products that go through there, but definitely some shite amidst it all & its more of an appeal to consumerist desires than anything, but its still nice to see some of the cool, well designed things on there.

Anyone know if there is something that exists on Mac (Lion) that would let me hit like Command+Alt+T and have it type out a whole sentence of text?

There are so many lines that i find myself typing out in emails that are the same every time, just courtesies and shit it would make my life so much better if I could just whack a couple keys and have it done and sent. "Here's your invoice, Thanks for your business" or "If you have any questions, blah blah" -- shit like that.

Any idea?
