I'm completely fascinated with this drink. It's like this enigma... it's impossible to describe its flavor, it just tastes like "Dr. Pepper". The drink literally tastes like itself.

And there's no brand competition or equivalent. There might be cheap knock-offs, but that's different. It's just like this magical, exclusive market that no one tries to even penetrate. It's not like Coke vs Pepsi. It just lives happily in it's own world, no one trying to fuck with it, like this infinite immutable presence.

After this ridiculous pepsi rebranding, I started realizing just how the era of 1985 to around 94 was the perfect time for just about..everything.

Especially pizza and soda. Seriously, for some reason, the packaging back then was just perfect across the board. The food looked so much *better*.

There's countless other examples. Just think of the original + second Ninja Turtles movie. I don't think any movie has made the pizza+soda combination more appealing, ever.

Also, not to get too nostalgic, but Channel 11 New York was literally the greatest cable station of all time, until WB swallowed it up. Saturday afternoon movie rosters of Masters of the Universe, Rambo movies, or Police Academy.. perfection.

Last year I bought Flushd.com, hoping to develop an app that finds the best (cleanest/nicest/coolest/strange... public bathrooms anywhere and launch in NYC. All user-submission-driven, whatever. Had a whole neat naming convention going too.

Bathrooms would be called "spots". People seek them out, photograph them, submit via cellphone, whatever. Then users can "spot" (rate up) or "squat" them (rate down). Squat meaning.. you wouldn't want your ass to ever touch the shit.
