Need design community help Jul 7, 10, 1:58 p.m.

Long story short—I submitted a label design to the Biltmore Winery 2010 Christmas label design competition and was selected as one of the top 5 finalists. (I am honored.) As a professional designer, I am somewhat shocked that bad design could win this out without your help—the design community.

I would just ask you to please vote for mine (the one with the red house, colored lines and snowflake made from the bottles and wine glasses). It's titled "Wine Glass & Bottle Snowflake". As design/dev professionals here, I would think you'd like that best anyway. ;)

I got to pull out all the stops now as this is becoming more of a popularity contest now than a design contest.

So there I was, along with other members of my team, about to finish up a great presentation for a client. Big meeting; a new rebrand and the entire 2010 campaign. We were showing a few screens about social media/sharing videos on YouTube—I happened to just find one of the first videos I came across and used a screenshot in my presentation.

All of a sudden the owner of the company goes, "Did you guys read the first post on this YouTube page?"

I remember seeing an animated video linked here a while back of two guys walking down the street as helicopters and stuff entered the screen. The entire animation was these two guys walking down the street. It sounded a bit like The Streets and was Aardman-ish in style.

Anyone remember this or know what I'm talking about?

Have any of you ever seen an instance where Flash will not load in a
browser (specifically Safari 2.0.4) until the user mouses over a link
on the page?

We're designing a web page here where the header area is done in Flash, while the rest of the site is HTML/CSS. The header area is blank in Safari intermittently until the user mouses over any link on the page. With the activity window open in Safari, it does not show
the SWF file until the mouseover occurs.

No problems at all on Firefox (Mac or PC), nor IE 6.

Any ideas?

I have a typical horizontal nav in a layer made of graphic buttons . I am able to hide the layer everywhere but below it in the body area? How do I hide the layer when there's nothing to attach a behavior to? Is there more javascript I need? Thanks.

Sometimes I think the only way I will truely be happy (creatively) is to be out doing my own thing. That or if a giant bird flew out of the sky with a bag of money and threw it at me.

Either one is fine.

In Design: master pages ? May 4, 06, 8:04 a.m.

I am having it auto number the document in the master pages, however, I want the numbers to be on top of everything in the book, not arranged to the bottom. Is there anyway I can raise the master pages to the top?
