hey chaps, you might be able to save my bacon - I need to find a clever way to convert PDF pages into swf files (on the fly) and keep their vector information and format but without creating utterly massive files. We've been doing it with an autop conversion thing which makes great looking files but they are so massive it cripples the operation of the application they are being used in.

This is a bit of a professional cry for help so if anyone can help I will be the most thankful person in the world.

(however, I am deadbeat at close to midnight and about to go home for some sleep before a very early start in the morning so I might have to pick this thread up then and thank you profusely)

hello all.

I have a new job on which is vexing me as I've not done any work like this in years and years. I'm rusty beyond comprehension and stuck on pre-design stages, let alone hitting the blank page hell.

I have to design a brochure for a company based on info on their website (its pretty standard stuff, services, about us, environmental policy, management profiles, testimonials etc) and I'm wondering if any of you good print bods out there could just give me som general advice on how you start a project like this, how you pre visualise it, set it up, break down a mass of content into a series of logical sections and pages etc etc.

Just any tips really that might help this go a bit smoother. If I can get into this it might help me get my mojo back for this kind of thing, cos believe it or not, there was a time when I was quite talented :-/

hello

my pal wants me to take a recording (in mp3) of a robot voice and play it over a picture of him then send it to another friend as a video file.

I've made an animated gif of his jaw moving and want to use this as the background of the 'video'. I don't have After Effects here which would be easy to use, but iMovie seems to import the gif as a single image and also zoom into it over the space of 5 seconds when I try to use it as footage.

Anyone know wtf is going on with that? or have any better ideas to achieve what must surely be pretty easy, no? also, where in the hell can I set the movie size in that program.

I need to get this to the guy today and am shadily doing it in work as I don't have a home pc at this time, so any help or ideas would be much appreciated :)
