Change guide colour Illustrator cs5 Nov 9, 11, 4:51 a.m.
Can't seem to figure out how to change the colour of a guide which has been converted from an object... so.... help
Noob grid question Oct 29, 11, 11:23 a.m.
So you can create a grid based layout (talking about print btw) by using phi to subdivide a page but what defines the space between columns and around images?
Pre-populate form based on link? Oct 10, 11, 3:10 p.m.
I have a bunch of plans on my site but I assume my clients will be booking rather than paying online. To make it easier for them, I'd want them to click a button on a price table based on which plan they'd want.
They'd then be taken to a form which I'd like to be prepopulated with info based on the plan which they have chosen.
What's the best way to pass on that predefined info onto the form from page a -> b?
jQuery script for image overlays Oct 3, 11, 3:40 a.m.
Does anyone know of a jQuery script which will automatically add image overlays when you mouseover images in a predefined div?
OS EX or OS TEN Aug 8, 11, 5:52 a.m.
So how do you pronounce it? In the beta period, I did OS EX because the fact it was a Roman numeral really didn't stick out at me. I now find it cringe worthy when I hear it instead of "OS TEN"
Decent photoblog software Aug 2, 11, 12:35 p.m.
So I hate pixelpost, well pretty much every single existing theme for it and I really don't have the time to put something together.
I like wordpress but most of the photo blogging themes expect you to have some in depth description for every image you post which I certainly don't.
I'd like it to be self hosted. Any suggestions?
Grid based wordpress Jun 27, 11, 3:43 p.m.
I'm looking for more grid based wordpress themes, that are minimal as seen from these two sites.
Suggestions?
Dropped D90 Jun 26, 11, 3:30 a.m.
My D90's strap came loose while my daughter was using it.
Smash onto concrete. It's amazingly fine though!
Anyway, I reattached the strap and it literally slides off with very little effort and I'm attaching it as seen in the manual (I can't think of any other way to do it anyway)
So, had this actually broken it, would it have been covered by the warranty?
In the market for a lens Jun 22, 11, 2:23 a.m.
I already have the tacky yet useful 18-55mm kit lens and the Nikkor as-af 50mm f1.8 but I'd like something better.
I'm looking for something that'd be (closer) to what might be considered a portrait lens but I have a d90 and need something that takes the crop factor into consideration.
Ideas?
Server 301 header Jun 20, 11, 4:12 p.m.
My site seems to return this instead of a 200, is that normal?
Photoshop Q May 23, 11, 2:23 a.m.
For some reason, whenever I use alt to pick up a colour in photoshop, it seems to be altering the BG colour, rather than the foreground. How do I switch it around?
host May 22, 11, 12:12 p.m.
If my site's host goes down, including my site too, what's probably going on behind the scenes?
I've had no notification of this...
jQuery smoothness May 20, 11, 3:19 p.m.
I've noticed a few basic jQuery scripts which produce moment on the page, like content scrolling in a div, or a div moving around on the page are smoother than others.
Is there something in particular I should be looking for to try and bring back the smooth or would it be that these are just poorly created scripts?
4GB vs 8GB May 20, 11, 1:06 p.m.
It's cheap but does it really make a difference.
I edit a lot of photos, usually only 12mp but I'll very often have a few open (sometimes more if I forget to close a bunch)
I'll have lightroom open at the same time too, with a fairly big library.
I've got an SSD already and other than upgrading my processor (which I can't afford at the moment) I think upgrading RAM is the cheapest way to improve performance.
Or is it?
HTML tables May 18, 11, 4:29 a.m.
I want to create a table on my site with prices.
So, everyone hates html tables these days, for layout at least.
Is it still acceptable to use them for what they
actually are? A table?
Also, they're very tried and tested but are there any quirks to be aware of in general or specific to particular browsers?
Is there a better alternative to using tables at all?
Thanks.
jQuery help May 11, 11, 1:41 a.m.
I'm using a jQuery cycle in conjunction with an image preloader.
Only problem being that my cycle slideshow starts playing before all the images are preloaded.
How could I go about making the cycle only play once the images are preloaded?
http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle/ <cycle
http://net.tutsplus.com/tutorial… <preloader
I've tried setting a delay time for the slideshow but I think the simple fact that the preloader is somehow overriding that. There's still no delay.
Thanks.
Canon Ink May 10, 11, 1:06 p.m.
I laid down £40 for a new set of cartridges for my Canon ip4700 inkjet and it seems to lose ink even when I've hardly used it. I mean colour cartridges are close to empty and since I bought the set, I've only been printing out in black. Pure greyscale, not mixed black. Anyone heard of this problem or knows what the cause is?
London Apr 25, 11, 1:13 p.m.
I'm going to London for the day tomorrow.
Going to the Tate as usual but that current installation seems a bit disappointing. The V&A and the Natural History Museum too. Mostly for a friend who needs to go there for his uni course work.
Is there anything in particular worth going to see at the minute?
jQuery preloaders Apr 24, 11, 12:08 p.m.
Anyone know of decent jQuery based preloaders? The only one I can find which is a full preloader, and not simply for images is called queryloader but it doesn't seem to behave the same way in all browsers so I'm hoping to find an alternative.
If it's not built with jQuery, I'll still look at other options.
