New York Salary Nov 30, 05, 7:59 a.m.

Alright guys, Its coming close to my one year....and Im trying to figure prices...what Im currently making compared to what the rest of New York is making with my experience. I can do the usual online bullshit but I wanted to see what this crowd though. Here is the breakdown, (and I know Im underpaid)

1.5 years experience in the field before taking the job; Bachelors Degree; there are 6 of us full time, one intern; paid vacation (in this case 2 weeks for my first year); Art Director pays our medical (does not include dental or eye) and our main client is ESPN (so we always always have work)

She started me at 32,000 and gave me 35,000 for my 6 months. WHAT should I be making?

The screen is unfortunately cracked but there is still viewability. Cost wise, replacement screens run about 60 dollars. Still plays music perfectly, it has its current software update, and mounting it as a external hard drive works fine. If you want to use it as parts, Im am also cool with that.. Apple wouldnt replace it of course so I just made the splurge and purchased the new video. What is even more amazing is that I just had the fucking thing replaced by apple not even 3 week ago for a previous "click of death incident" I caught right before the year warrenty gave out. Making this battery brand spanking new. $100.00. Anyone interested, email me.

I just wanted to say to Jeff (if he is out there) that the approach that you have taken for selling us your work; does not work. And i find it interesting that you put yourself on Public Broadcast in this design community to show us that you are worthy. Your cocky approach of having me look at your site/your work bothers me. Its as if WE owe you something because you are paying your dues. "I will be permanently relocating to New York from Australia this April And would welcome the opportunity to meet with studios/publishing houses around this time period." Well you know what Jeff, we are all paying our dues and we are all on a time schedule . So next time try a approach that doesnt make me feel like I am obligated to look at your work.

Im torn. One min Im told not to make it personal, next Im told it's not personal enough.

In the last few months I have: Art Directed an entire organic denim line, branded the marketing division of Kimberly Clark for the CMO Tony Palmer, went up against 4 other agencies in branding GE's Money Division, and created a 88 page book for the artist Richard Prince.

In the last 6 months I have been on multiple sit downs_
Studio 65, Creativefeed, PerceptionNYC, Equinox, The7thArt, ThirdEyeDesign, Bridgerconway, Last Exit, Naked Communications_To name a few favorites.

From all the sit down feedback_it has been determined:
_My modern style is confirmed and liked by multiple clients.
_My work visually speaks to an international audience.
_My work is across the board in what can be done and handled.

I am currently looking for full time placement [Art Director].
Comfortable with managing 3-5 designers.
