hey just wanted to invite everyone on here to join in on a little summer craft project!

we're building little boats out of drift wood, twigs, leaves, pretty much anything that can be considered "natural".

i've got together with the local newspaper here in Vancouver to have a fun boat-building picnic here next saturday but the project is open to anyone who wants to build one and snap a photo of it floating in a pond somewhere!

i bought a little golden halfy (splits 35mm in half) and flew a kite with a friend on the weekend to test it out! it's really fun! a roll of 24 becomes 48!

Facebook group vs fanpage Mar 17, 09, 8:57 p.m.

I started an FB group and it now has over 5,000 members which is great but this means I am no longer allowed to send updates to people in the group. Also Facebook no longer offers the option to change a group into a fan page (which would allow for updates to be sent to fans)

I was just wondering if people had any input about the benefits of having a fan page vs a group for a company/website. especially now that facebook has altered the way that fan pages work...

My friend Erin (designformankind.com) and I have just released a bunch of postcards that I thought people on here might dig!

People were asked to design postcards based on messages from a previous project in which people submitted encouraging words to be posted in a gallery anonymously.

We received hundreds of submissions and selected 10 to be made into postcards.

my shoe for converse Jan 29, 09, 3:30 a.m.

i got the opportunity to participate in Converse's 1Hund(red) project and somehow ended up being the only canadian designer selected. my shoe comes out in february here in vancouver and i'm having a charity event/launch party here on the 19th with a shop called Livestock .

All profits from the shoe sold at the event will also be donated directly to the Global Fund by Livestock (this is in addition to the donation already made by Converse for every shoe sold wholesale).

Anyways yea just wanted to share! really excited to see people get to wear them, and support The Global Fund doing it.

the mini dvi to dvi adapter - its sooo annoying that the part that fits into the macbook doesn't fit too securely in place. this problem is magnified by the fact that the cable it connects to on the other end is so huge that its just a matter of time before the prongs are bent from the weight of the cable and i have to buy another adapter.

anyone else experience this?

wes anderson directed an adspot with brad pitt - finally saw the ad the other night, tried to find the link to post here and they are all removed. was curious what others thought. pretty disappointing, its definitely not as good as his Amex ad

went to their show the other night in vancouver. EPIC. i now understand what all the hype is about. i have always been a fan but wow. first time seeing them live and it was like witnessing a piece of musical history. anyone else had their face melted off and mind shatter into a million pieces at one of their shows?

i am looking to buy an apple laptop. i am not up on all the mac rumors and stuff so i just wanted to know from some of you if now is a stupid time to buy a laptop (ie, some new awesome one is about to come out?)

i am looking for a laptop cuz ill be doing a fair bit of travelling coming up - mainly use it for storing photos from photo shoots and a bit of graphic work (not too concerned about video) so can i get away with a macbook instead of a macbook pro?

i just want the smallest screen/cheapest apple laptop that will do the trick.

any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
