Killing In The Name Of Dec 15, 09, 9:42 a.m.
Anyone been following this?
Killing In The Name Of by RATM currently beating X Factor single to the xmas number 1.
'Rock band Rage Against The Machine is ahead of X Factor winner Joe McElderry in the race for the Christmas number one, early sales figures suggest. A Facebook group aiming to get the band's 1992 hit Killing In The Name to the top of the festive chart has attracted more than 750,000 members.'
I know this is for the kids & anyone over 15 caring for Xmas no 1 is bullshit, but I'd still like to see Rage do it just to make the sprogs joining Cowell's machine every year think twice.
2010 Dec 8, 09, 3:07 p.m.
Are we calling it 'Twenty Ten' or 'Two Thousand and Ten'? Because we all need to get together, agree and just fucking stick to it. I can only get away with 'the new year' for so long now.
Just realised this only really applies to the English. Americans clearly have 'Twenty Ten' (Greg Graffin got in there like 15 years ago).
In fact its obviously 'Twenty Ten'.
Anyone not using 'Twenty Ten' in the next 2 weeks is not allowed to speak for the next 10 years.
New Sagmeister/Millman Interview Nov 30, 09, 12:04 p.m.
From Design Observer, new Debbie Millman interview with Sagmeister on Design Matters. This one was done properly as well, not over the sodding phone.
His new documentary on Happiness is bound to be interesting. It's dangerously rose-spectacle-mush territory but if anyone can pull it off it's him.
Good stuff
Genographic Project Nov 17, 09, 4:53 p.m.
Anyone done this?
Sent my swabs, results due in early 2010.
All physical signs point to me being a Viking who probably treated women very badly and liked the smell of roasting pork on my blade.
Test is fairly expensive but this shit gets really addictive when you look into it.

+1 for the maps as well!
Bit Torrent Oct 11, 09, 3:40 a.m.
If we keep downloading for free won't it make all the £££ hunters fuck off because there is no money in it alone, and force all the people who really REALLY want to get their stuff out take useful jobs to fund their work?
Everything would instantly get better?
All hip hop artists would be forced to ACTUAL politics if they want to escape the hood coz they don't have money and fame tempting them in. Simon Cowell would disappear into LA with his millions and Vince Vaughn would never be heard of again. All guitarists could take jobs at guitar factories, all VJs cud design circuit boards for the computer industry, bands could start their own music venue in the no-longer-needed warehouse of NME.
Isn't this how communism started?
Or is this all bollocks?
Skeleton drawings Sep 13, 09, 5:01 a.m.
Someone posted a site that featured hi-res scans of old drawings from a Victorian archive of skeletons/skulls/medical dissections etc.
Deleted it from favourites, anyone know what it is???
Cheers

Nikon flash question Jan 30, 09, 1:42 a.m.
When you activate built-in flash or use an external flash gun, why does the shutter speed refuse to go any faster than 1/200?
Using a D90 and have the same problem with built-in flash and with external SB-600.
Have disabled Auto FP which allows faster shutter speeds but with massive detrimental effects on the light, totally screws the flash up.
What the hell is this all about????
And actually I do think this is an issue for all cameras, not just Nikons.
Pirates Nov 17, 08, 9:06 a.m.
Capture Saudi Oil Tanker in the Indian Ocean, possibly the largest vessel ever captured at sea.
£pson Nov 14, 08, 3:59 a.m.
Not cold selling here but it seems worth it...
Anyone in UK with Epson printer = good time to update your warranty. Extra 2 years being given on many A3+ and A4 printers for cheap cheap cheap (i.e. R2400 now £40, was £168).
Advertisement over.
CS3 printing problem Nov 13, 08, 3:30 p.m.
The new print menu setup on CS3 does not allow me to select various options that were available on CS2 (and still are, I checked on my laptop).
i.e. I cannot select paper type to match colour profiles, or print speed/quality, as before.
I'm using Epson R2400 and all paper is Epson made. It is definitely a problem with the menu.
Anyone know the solution to this?
Cheers
Safari/Firefox garbled? Sep 24, 08, 4:35 p.m.
When I open some sites in Safari or Firefox it comes up with a bunch of gibberish text instead of legible fonts.
Its nothing to do with text encoding, nothing comes up from virus scans and it only happens on certain sites (others remain perfectly ok).
This happened to a few friends' browsers too.
Anyone know anything about this/this happened to you?
Cheers x
