hey, I am having a baby girl, and was looking for names. Me and my wife are happy with a few, but they are fairly popular.

I was looking for something a little off the beaten path, but nothing Zappa esque. Anyone have any ideas?

I have been told by my AD that I am "difficult to coach" i.e. I can't take direction or criticism.

To me, if I think think my design choice is better than yours, I am going to explain why, and ask you to do the same.

I know I need to learn to get along, so how does everyone else do it? Is it just a swallow your pride thing?

I just got an offer to work at a pretty decent place. It's an entry level job- pays 42K

it would be a 2 hr commute for 6 months till I could move, then it'd be an hour commute.

I'm kinda hard up for a job...am I crazy to consider this one?

Every time some poor schmuck asks to see NT member's resumes, they act like it's a poker game...

Here is an archive of creative's resumes I have collected. All were downloaded from their sites, so nobody can cry foul.

Some of them are very good, some are not. Even the poor ones have a few areas of merit though.

Saw the quit smoking thread, wondered if anyone has been able to give up drinking. I won't miss getting drunk per say, but a lot of my social life revolves around bars, clubs and just chilling while drinking.

I just got let go from a job I only had for 4 months. The AD said the owner did not think my (design) style was in sync with the company's.

I was thinking the same thing actually, and being quite unhappy there was trying to figure out how to exit smoothly. I'm just pissed that I got beat to the punch. Hehe.

I'm also a bit miffed, because there were no warning signs at all, and when they hired me they knew my style was a bit different than what they were used to. In fact that is why the AD hired me...to "shake things up" at this 25 year old invitation company...

If I get an external monitor will it hold it's own or should I plan on upgrading my desktop?

Hey, frequently I will come across a piece of design that looks terrible, and know I can do better. What is a nice way to approach people that are using terrible design and offer to do something better for them?

I really hate people at B&N who get up from a chair (the comfy ones) to get another book, use the shitter, etc, and leave their personal belongings on it to save their spot.

In my mind, if your ass leaves the chair it is up for grabs. Does anyone else see it this way?
