i am planning on visiting nyc in a few weeks and i've never been before. i'd like (economical) suggestions on which hotel/area to stay in so i can see the most museums and make the best out of the trip. any particular restaurants i must eat at? any places i absolutely must see?

i will also need to go to edison, nj for half a day for a wedding. i am not planning on renting a car.

any and all suggestions would be wonderful. thank you!

or was it called From Hell? that johnny depp movie about jack the ripper. i remember watching it a very long time ago but it wasn't until last week that i was thinking about it and realized how much i liked the movie.
