I can't get the video to work on Safari or Firefox (mac of course). Have flip 4 mac installed and it plays the opening 20sec. intro then just goes blank. Any other canadians having this problem or is it a mac thing?

Also, can't watch NBC online because it's only for americans.

I also don't own a tv so thought I'd try check some of the games out online. Might just have to go to the pub to do it.

Wondering which on is best for making a personal photo book. I've heard Apples quality (the book ordering through iPhoto) is crap but that was some time ago, maybe they've gotten better. Haven't heard any quality comments about LuLu or Blurb so I'm curious.

Lonely Planet re-did their site to a more up to day version. I personally liked the old one. Is there a term for this latest style? "Bloggy" is how most sites are looking to me these days. Huge fonts and massive headers.

I have a registered trademark on the end of a word that is tracked pretty far out. Common sense tells me to kern the ® back in towards the last character. Thoughts?

I've styled a site using css and in the 'header' area I have an image. Now the client wants the image animated using flash. I can't call the flash from the css file can I? Am I going to have to insert the flash file in each html page?

Picking model shots for outdoor gear. It seems to me the shots where the models are wearing sunglasses have less emotion. Is it me or can other people justify that as well?

Remember Freehand. I loved it way more than Illy back in the day. Anyways, remember the 'punch' command? I'm sure Illustrator has something similar but I've never found it. For years I've always just added and taken away points on an object in Illy but I want to know if there is a quick command for this:

I have an object, say a circle and over top of it I have a rectangle that goes right across it. I don't really need the rectangle it is just hiding a portion of the circle I don't want. Is there a way to select the two objects and merge them into one like you could in freehand? All these years I've been doing it the tedious way ...

Is it still ok to use images for menu buttons like about, info, contact, etc. when it's just text. The client is set on a font that isn't a web font. Are images considered bad form in the CSS world?? Sorry for sounding stupid.

Does google recognize the text pulled from an xml file in to flash? I'm guessing not.

Does anybody know where I can order 11 x 17 binders with the rings on the 17" side? I can find 11 x 17 binders with the ring on the 11" side but having trouble with portrait binders. It's for archiving ad jobs and such.

A freelance friend of mine won a bid to do design work for a company. They are small jobs but they come steady and has turned into a good chunk of her work. A local printing company recently pitched this company to do the design AND printing of these jobs. For now they are sticking with my friend but they are getting her to send her files to these new guys for quick printing. How can she protect her work from being ripped off or even elements being ripped off from these guys. Locking the PDF is good but if the printers need a way to get it 4-up or what not for printing they won't be able to place it in InDesign for setup without the password. Can any pre-press wizards help out with this one?
