Type in Photoshop CS6 Apr 23, 13, 11:31 a.m.
Recently upgraded and have stumbled upon something a bit odd.
I have some type set at 43pt:
Just below it I have more type which, apparently, is also set at 43pt?
When I first click on the lower text, it states that it's 77pt (which sounds/looks right) but as soon as I move the cursor the value changes to 43pt.
Is this a new "feature" in CS6?
Any advice appreciated.
503 Error Pages Mar 27, 13, 7:25 a.m.
I'm looking for some inspiration.
I've been sifting through Google's results for a bit and figured I'd ask if anyone here has seen any that stood out to them.
PS - Save for Web Question Mar 1, 13, 7:16 a.m.
Don't suppose there is a way to make Save for Web save files to the original folder by default - similar to how Save As does - instead of to the last folder saved to.
Using CS5, btw.
Where to stay in Berlin? Jan 16, 13, 7:38 a.m.
May be heading over for a long weekend or more sometime next month. I'm looking at places on Air BnB and was hoping some of you could recommend specific neighborhoods.
Really just looking to hang out, eat, drink, see some sites etc.
Also, if you have recommendations on things to do/places to go that'd be great!
Thanks in advance.
Logos in motion Nov 26, 12, 7:38 a.m.
Any examples of good/interesting use of motion within a brand?
First thing that came to mind for me:
Data Visualization in the Office? Nov 13, 12, 1:26 p.m.
A while back I remember seeing that some company/agency/studio had set up and designed a system for displaying random data/info on a display on their office wall. If I remember correctly it had things like weather, train schedule, tweets, "pixels pushed", probably other quantitative data.
Anyone remember seeing this?
If so can you point me to it?
Beasts of the Southern Wild Sep 18, 12, 8:38 a.m.
Just curious if anyone has seen this.
If so, what were your thoughts?
Thinking about inviting someone to see it this week.
Trap 2 Da Future Sep 13, 12, 1:17 p.m.

He DJs at a few regular parties in the city and BK if you're ever looking for something to do.

When in Amsterdam? Aug 6, 12, 12:13 p.m.
What should I do?
I'll be heading to London for about 2 weeks this Thursday and plan on going to Amsterdam for a few of those days. Smoking isn't really my thing (not that I wont do it while there), so I was just wondering if any of y'all had recommendations as far as bars, shops, places to eat, renting bikes, things to do/see yada yada etc etc.
Any tips would be appreciated!
Push/Drop Down Navs Jul 26, 12, 8:58 a.m.
I'm looking around for examples of push/drop down navs. More specifically, those that contain some sort of content within them. ie a featured/popular article or item.
Some that I've comes across so far include:
http://pitchfork.com/ (the featured section)
So far it's been a crap shoot - just looking around and finding things at random. If you have any that you'd like to share I'd appreciate it.
Wanna be my boss? Jun 19, 12, 9:03 a.m.
Anyone interested in an in-house position at a Design Director level? You'd be part of a small team that works in the film/entertainment industry with an office located in Tribeca.
If you're interested shoot me an email and I can give you a bit more detail and necessary contacts.
WTF? Jun 18, 12, 8:43 a.m.
Kind of in a bind with this one due to time, so even something similar may work.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Feature Film Cameras? May 22, 12, 10:44 a.m.
Question to all the film/video people on here, and to those who just may know about it.
I'm trying to gather images of various cameras (preferably profile images), both film and digital, to use as reference for illustrations. Other than what I've learned in the past day, this is an industry I know nothing about. I was hoping someone may be able to provide some resources, be it manufacturers, blogs/sites, well known cameras makes/models - just things I should check out that I may not come across otherwise.
I've been looking at companies/sites like:
Aaton, RED, ARRI, Panavision, Sony, Panasonic, HD Magazine etc.
Looking for these sorts of images if it helps:
Any help would be appreciated.
Strava anyone? May 20, 12, 5:04 p.m.
I know there are a number of cyclists on here; but, just wondering if anyone is on/using Strava. I signed up for it a while ago but have only recently started really using it.
For those who don't know, I would say what Nike+ is for running, Strava is to cycling - you can use an iPhone or a traditional cycling computer to track/share data.
If you're on it, follow me:
In NYC? Wanna see some films? Apr 24, 12, 8:34 a.m.
So my job has a bunch of comp tickets that we're giving out for today, tomorrow and Thursday. Even with employees taking their share, we usually have a bit left over so i figured I'd share. If anyone wants to see some festival films shoot me an email and I can let you know what we have available.
London apartments/sublets/shares Apr 8, 12, 8:02 a.m.
My old lady will be in London in June for 3-6 months. We've been looking around on Craigslist but just wondering if there are other sites we may not know about for finding a place to stay.
Many thanks in advance.
Glasses Mar 20, 12, 7:43 a.m.
Question for all of you prescription glasses wearers. But first, some backstory.
So I haven't worn glasses in a couple years. My vision isn't terrible but I do have astigmatism and have noticed my eyes feeling more tired than usual. I went to an optometrist, got an exam and got some glasses. After wearing them for a while I noticed something was off, it appeared as if everything on the left side was a bit skewed - I noticed this the most when looking at the computer screen.
Something like this:
I went back to the optometrist - different guy this time - told him what was up and got another eye exam. He said my left eye took on a bit more astigmatism since the initial exam and that could have been why. I tried out some new lenses and everything seemed good.
I got my replacement glasses in the mail last night and the same shit is happening again.
In the times that I've had glasses before I've never experienced anything like this. Just wondering if something similar has happened to anyone.
