So I found an excellent deal on a Canon
EOS-20D 8.2 Mega pixel camera off craigslist.

I am going to go and pick it up today, but I was wondering if there is any common problem with these cameras that I should look for before I hand over my money? I am just a little paranoid that I will buy the camera and something will go wrong two days later.

So besides turning it on, snapping a few photos, looking at the LCD screen, and making sure the shudder isn't sticking, is there anything else I should check?

Anyone who has been ripped off before can probably understand my bit of paranoia.

I am trying to rip a DVD to QuickTime format with little/no quality loss. There is no copy protection on the disc. Anyone know a free utility or Mac program that will do this?

Is there a quick, easy way to add a poster frame to flash video?

The video I am using has an annoying black fade-in at the beginning with audio so I can cut it off.

Found some stuff online, but there are a ton of steps involved....got to be an easier way.

I am stuck on trying to convert a stack of FLV files to MP4 format. The problem is I can do it with QuickTime Pro but I lose sound.Am I missing something on the audio being lost?

I thought MP4 was the most universal format for Mac/PC. The idea is that people will be able to download these videos and use them.

Is there a way to do this, or is there another format that is as universal as MP4 that I could convert to without loosing audio? Or is there a better free tool to use besides QTP that I could accomplish this with?

Release date is set for today, but that probably means it won't hit shelves for 1-2 days. Checked Best Buy and they didn't have it.

Coding - how much $ Sep 8, 08, 10:02 a.m.

Don't do that much coding. Got a site of about 15 pages to code....mainly just CSS, no flash as of yet. Design looks like it came from a print designer who has never done web....kind of clunky for a website but I don't care much.

How much should I charge? Would $100/page be a good price? Probably take me less than an hour per page to code. It's for a non-profit if that makes any difference.

I am trying to open a flash file that I don't have the fonts installed. So it gives me the "One or more fonts used by this movie are not available..." message

Is there a way to open the file without altering the fonts? Man this is annoying. The problem is two-fold...I have the correct fonts, they are just named differently ( can't rename them as they are on a suitcase server) and the other problem is that I have the font installed but the font style (bold, italic) does not show up when I tell Flash to substitute it. So it will change all the helveticas accordingly, but I have to go and re-bold everything, etc.

Anyone know an easy way around this problem? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Flash help please Jun 25, 08, 10:39 a.m.

I have created a pretty standard flash product bar that allows you to flip through product (books). Currently the books scale when you hover over them, but I also need to add a hover bubble that gives additional info about the book.

I can't seem to find anything online or through the filter here. Seems like it should be simple. Anyone know the easiest way to do this?
