Illustrated Logo Pricing Feb 15, 12, 1:52 p.m.

I've received a request for an illustrated logo similar to this image:

While this prospective client is calling this an illustration, I think it's falling under the definition of a logo. I don't normally do logos and am not familiar with their pricing. He's describing it as his "site brand, with additional usage in banner, merchandise, T-shirts, etc."

What would be a good ballpark to start with?

Looking for recommendations on good screencasting software for the mac, preferably free or at least easily obtainable.

I've tried a couple (forget their names) and they either choked my machine, didn't have enough features, or recorded at a crappy resolution. I want to record my drawing process to use as a guide for my interns, and may post stuff for other interested folks. Thanks!

Adobe Ideas for iPad May 14, 10, 3:32 p.m.

Anyone using/tried Adobe Ideas for iPad? I tried it out today on a friend's device and while it is the most basic version of Illustrator imaginable, it seemed right on the cusp of being very useful.

It is the only drawing app that I know of that exports a vector file than is editable in Illustrator, and I'm thinking would be a great little machine to use as a portable touchscreen drawing device (though it has no pressure-sensitivity).

Wondering if anyone has had any experiences with it.

For the life of me I can't remember the name of the site that lists design/art/clothing shops in various cities worldwide. You select a city and it has great resources for cool stores in the area.

As soon as someone posts it I'll slap my forehead.

Month in France & Spain Mar 15, 10, 12:10 p.m.

My wife, son and I are spending a month in the far south of France near Perpignan, close to the Spanish border. Barcelona is 2 hours away and we'll be spending several days there and lots of time in northern Spain as well. We'll be there from late May to late June.

I'm looking for recommendations for what to do/see in that area: food, art, specific beaches, towns, sights... anything really.

Also, how do I go about getting cell phone service in that area for a month?

This is stupid. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and now I can't bring screenshots (apple-ctrl-shift-4) from my clipboard into Illustrator. I just get that Quicktime error.

Do I need QT Pro to make this simple thing work? Frustrating as hell as I use this feature about 20x a day. Not interested in 3rd party stuff.

Anyone know of a cms that can build simple portfolio/photo sites for the iphone? Seems like a simple idea but I can't find anything out there.

A friend hacked his wordpress site to make it fit, but I'd like to find a simple cms for non-coders to drop images and copy into.

I'm looking for some kind of plug-in or feature to use in Illustrator that will warp shapes with perspective. KPT Vector Effects used to work great with old versions of AI - is there anything like it now?

Yes, I've tried Free Distort as well as all the Warp features - they suck at perspective. Any help is appreciated.
