No, this is not another thread about meeting up that leads to nothing.

I don't know how you guys from San Francisco/Bay Area feel about it, but i found it was pretty difficult to actually get it to the point when we all meet up for drinks. Maybe i wasn't following threads, maybe they just died on its own.

Anyways, i think that it still would be cool to have a way to meet up on a regular basis to relieve stress after work and spend time with fellows from the industry.

That's why i went ahead and bought a domain: sfdrinks.com

My initial idea was to create some sort of a site that would allow to list events and subscribe to them so you get email notifications. Of course, an emailing list could work too, but i thought it would be cooler and more fun to create something a bit more pleasant to use and easy to subscribe to. With reminders.

Now, the question is... Is there anyone who'd like to participate in the creation and what you think of the idea in general. If it's not only me who feels this way, it could grow into a fun project on the side. Depending on how many people will participate, we can decide on the scale of this.

Do you know if there are some tests i can run on my MBP to see if it's performing the way it should? I got it as a refurb, and have a feeling it's slower than it should be... Maybe i just need more ram, but who knows.

It's a summer time, and a lot of freelancers i work with are either on a vacation, or will be soon. It scares me a little :)

Would you absolutely buy core duo 2 if you were buying it today or is core duo still a pretty damn good machine to stick with?

I don't feel too strong about spending extra $500 unless there's a reason... and i'm not going to be doing 3D nowhere in the near future.

Ok, as we all know you don't get as much spyware or viruses on macs as you get on PC's. But, will you still get all that shit when XP is installed on a MAC? And also, does installing XP on a MAC improve XP or makes it worse?
