I guess this could be thought as trolling...or making a statement, and may could well be. But this is the thread for love, kindness, engagement/wedding announcements and virtual hugs. As many arguments and clashes this site can bring, it also brings a lot of positivity and friendship. The people I've met in person through this site...monumentally good people, every last person. I think its time we forget about our differences, and celebrate how much we have in common. We can all cynically scoff at the tag..."For a better tomorrow." Who knows how serious everyone was when they thought of that tag...doesn't matter, we can all make it a reality.

So about 9 months ago I created a special landing page vying for a position with Hoefler & Frere-Jones. It worked, and I'm now happily front-ending with the company of my dreams. However, since moving here my husband hasn't been able to land the job of his dreams, so I figured we'd try the same avenue for him and see what comes of it. He's no front-end developer so it may not work quite the same, but there is surely no harm in trying.

So, he shot a short lo-fi video and I made a landing page for him yesterday (using the new Tungsten Narrow web fonts, thanks to my new job ). We've just sent it out to DonorsChoose.org via email, Twitter, and their online application form. With any luck this will work, but if not we have a decent little template to woo prospective future employers.

Sidenote: I can't help but think there is a business somewhere in this. With both landing pages (mine and his) I've had friends and acquaintances ask if I could make one for them. Of course the target audience is jobless people with no money, so I'm not sure how it could work...

Either way, if you have the talent and ability to put something like this together for yourself when looking for work I highly recommend it. It worked wonders for me.

Planning to go to Peru in the spring again (planned before :) ) I've been to Latin America quiet a few times, but never made it down to Peru.

I am looking for a jungle treck for at least 5 days preferably off the tourist trail ending at Machu Picchu.

Any tips, recommendation, leads or warnings are highly appreciated.
