Salary deducted.?

Have any of u guys experience this? Yesterday i had an self evaluation meeting with my boss after working in this company for 7 months(my 1st job out of university). My boss deduct my monthly salary because he said that im not a professional graphic designer , for example , he needs to be with me in front of the computer doing projects and he also said that i do not know what a grid is.

I have done a lot of projects for them, for eg. 3d renderings and websites.

Am I wrong?

OK so I noticed that the girl I am dating does not walk side-by-side with me anymore, she just walks ahead of me.

Also, we went to a party tonight and I asked her to dance and she said no, then she started dancing with her cousins.

I threw a fucking tantrum and sent her to hell.

Whenever we are alone we have the best time, when she hangs out with other people she acts like a different person.

Why is this happening?

I broke it off with her tonight.

london 2010...

I think it's looking bloody great now. Any applications of the logo / brand that I have recently have been really exciting. It's fresh, its unique, its different, they took a chance, they didn't go with the usual safe shit and I think it's paid off now...

It was ridiculed at first but I think people have slowly began to see what wolff olins have tried to do. We will look back at this in years and I think it will be a turning point in branding! The emphasis is no longer on creating a mark that looks polished, smart, corporate... designed. It's more about what lies behind the logo, the people, the games, the energy.

They call it 'everyone's olympics', and i think they've succeded in creating a brand that is inlcusive and approachable by everyone, not just another safe, boring, but well constructed, corporate logo.

Michael Turner RIP

Michael Turner, one of the more popular artists from the comic book industry is dead.

"He was definitely one of the most popular and influential comic-book artists working right now," said Andrew Farago, curator of San Francisco's Cartoon Art Museum. "He was very, very much in demand as a cover artist on high-profile projects."

Asshole upstairs

So the guy upstairs 2 floors above insists on drumming on his electronic pads at 1:30 and I can hear it all the way down here. He wont respond to me banging on his door or jamming my finger on his buzzer.

I have it on good authority that it's the son of the person who owns the building, so I'm sure there is some sentiment of entitlement involved.

Any ideas on how to stick it to this fucker? I was thinking about tampering with the fuse box.

PS anytime there is a car blocking his driveway he buzzes every single apartment and yells.

PDF Wins

Was there ever any doubt?
After several attempts by Microsoft and others to challenge Adobe's PDF format... it looks like it will become the official standard.

http://www.appleinsider.com/arti…

"Adobe has relinquished control of the Portable Document Format (PDF) to the ISO (International Organization for Standardization), which will now assume developmental control of the format as an industry standard.

The ISO said the new standard, ISO 32000-1, Document management – Portable document format – Part 1: PDF 1.7, is based on the PDF version 1.7 developed by Adobe. It supplies the essential information needed by developers who write software that reads, creates, or otherwise interprets PDF files.

Since its inception back in 1993, Adobe has maintained complete autonomy as the developer and copyright owner of the electronic document format, which allows users to exchange and view the documents easily and reliably, independent of the environments in which they are created, viewed and printed, while preserving their content and visual appearance.

"By releasing the full PDF specification for ISO standardization, we are reinforcing our commitment to openness", said Adobe chief technology officer Kevin Lynch.

The explosion of Internet use in recent years helped PDF become one of the most common formats for document exchange, spawning billions of individual PDF documents and a community of more than 2000 PDF product developers along the way.

PDF also plays a central role in Apple's Mac OS X operating system, serving as the native metafile format that replaced the once-standard PICT format of yesteryears. Mac OS X's Quartz 2D graphics composition layer is also based on a model common to Display PostScript and PDF.

As such, Apple's system-level support for PDF allows any Mac OS X application with access to a Print command to create PDF documents automatically. Apple's Preview image viewer and Safari Web browser also support the format natively.

"As an ISO standard, we can ensure that this useful and widely popular format is easily available to all interested stakeholders," said ISO Secretary-General Alan Bryden. "The standard will benefit both software developers and users by encouraging the propagation and dissemination of a common technology that cuts across systems and is designed for long term survival.”

In a statement released Wednesday, the ISO added that future versions of the format will be published as subsequent parts of the ISO 32000-1 standard by the ISO subcommittee in charge of its maintenance and development."

What is this...

I get what Spike Lee was trying to accomplish, but the part that really offended me was the Wall Street bashing (@ 1:20). Spike obviously has some distorted view of how he thinks Wall Street guys are. The rest of the scene was okay, but not the Wall Street part.

Thoughts?

Ultimately…

so, after beers, rum and cokes, $20 bets on UFC fights, 4 rounds of drinks at the casino and a 30 minute walk home, you learn that ultimately it's your own fault that you are responsible for yourself and you find yourself on a 40 minute call to a Samoan friend up in Northern California who re-enforces this belief and makes you realize "everyone I hang with might not be worth a shit."

I truly believe he's right and I'm still fuckin hammered as I write this so I apologize for any shitty typos.
