photoshop CS3 crashing Oct 6, 08, 6:25 a.m.

Good morning gentlemen and Jaline.

Has anyone experienced PS crashing when trying to open a psd file through the File menu?
PS seems to load normally but keeps crashing when I try to open a psd file. I'm on windoes.

Would deleting the preferences help? Or do I nned to get PS reinstalled?
