Hi.

I need to work out some colour palettes. I can't remember (and have never bookmarked) those cool websites that pretty much do it all for you.

You know the ones – you give a base colour, hit and button and POW – a lovely, complimentary colour palette for your disposal.

Would you kind folks be good enough to list your favourites? Failing that, just list some that you might have bookmarked, so I can bookmark them.

Looking for an 'energy beam' picture on a white background, ideally EPS so it can be modified and changed shape etc.

Hammered iStockPhoto and found nothing on a white background. Maybe my search strings are wrong, but everything is dark dark dark...

It's to be used on the cover of a document and then used throughout on certain pages as a device which is why it needs to be modified.

You know the thing, kind of like a soundwave, but cooler with more colours...

Sorry for another camera thread, but it's more relevant than most shit on here.

I'm looking to buy my girlfriend a camera for Christmas to replace her existing compact:

She doesn't want an SLR – she's not a designer and she isn't particularly technically minded when it comes to taking photos, but she does love taking them and printing them (usual stuff, family, friends, holidays etc) and she's decided she would like an upgrade.

I've researched endlessly on all the usual sites (dpreview.com mainly) and I just can't decide what to get.

She hinted that although she doesn't want an SLR she doesn't necessarily want to just upgrade her compact (confusingly) and has been looking at stuff like this:

Are these so called 'superzooms' any good?

Budget up for review for the right camera, but I'm looking around the £200 mark.

I have been given the task of coming up with a new design device for use on a new document we are producing.

It will feature on the cover, and parts of it will then be replicated and displayed on the pages inside.

We have used various things in the past, this being the most recent:

We've used it as a background image for things and pulled out parts of the 'whirly bits' for use on their own.

This might not be that hard, but it has been decided that the new device has to mean something, and therefore a list of words has been bandied around, some of them being: unity, harmony, team, strength, robust, modern, trustworthy, stable, reliable, constant, corporate, flexible, intelligent. That sort of thing.

It can look like anything I guess, but how the fuck do you represent that sort of thing in an image like that? I'm having a brain-freeze today and can't imagine how one would go about starting something like this.

Any thoughts/tips/examples would be massively appreciated.

My contract is nearly up so it's time to upgrade. I finally get to get rid of my shitty Nokia N95.

Thing is, all the phones that are around at the moment are a bit rubbish.
