A bit of background: this is for a friend who runs a mobile recording studio. I've developed the logo from a concept that his girlfriend (fine art graduate) did.
He's pretty happy with my idea (the first one just in black) but he asked for having the "skyscraper window at night" effect. And yesterday i was working in that direction.

What do you people think?

IntelMac + Illustrator Mar 15, 07, 5:39 a.m.

I'm working with illy on this dual 2.2Ghz IntelMac. The program after some text boxes and clipped masked lo-res photos becomes slow and unresponding.
Is this normal and i have just to wait cs3 or something could be done to speed up this thing?

I'm about to start a new design for a website.
So I'm setting up margins, grid and stuff.

Do you guys have a method or a reason to go with a grid with an even number columns than one with odd number of columns?

I used to work with an odd number of columns (usually 7 or 9) because the space is less boring/static yet balanced, but since i've seen the "Grid systems" Book by Muller-Brockmann
this time I'm trying with an even numbered columns grid.

Anyway i'd like to hear your opinions about that.
