Can anyone convert a .max file into a .3ds or .obj or something else that c4d can digest? I'm in dire, urgent need, and you'd be saving my life. I'm at the tail end of an all nighter for AM approval and anyone I know local is still asleep.

Apple Color problem Sep 12, 10, 12:07 p.m.

Anyone here using apple's color for CC? Im having a color shift issues when roundtripping to/from FCP.

When I grade in color, it looks fine. Renders from color look fine as well. When sending back to FCP, everything saturates more and the highlights blow out a bit. However, if grab the render from color, and drop it manually into FCP (even in the same timeline), it looks fine.

I've tried exporting XMLs and EDLs with no luck. This is making me want to punch FCP in the face.

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips for receiving payment internationally (mainly UK->US). I searched, and couldn't find anything specific to that.

I know paypal is easiest, but it looks like they charge 2.5% just for currency conversion, on top of the .5-3.5% transfer fee. That seems pretty heavy. Direct bank transfer is out of the question, plus banks seem to give a crappy exchange rate. Any experience/ideas? I just hate being taxed on money that I haven't even paid taxes on yet.

Finally wrapping all my projects spawned an impromptu road trip to SF for the weekend and some camping afterwards. Anything special going on? I know the beerfest is happening, is that worth checking out also?

Anyone have any experience with this monitor, or with the smaller U2410? The online reviews seem to be quite good, but it's mostly from gamers and general users, and I'd like to hear some designer/video/professional feedback if there is any.
