How can you customize the color of the actual map (ie greyscale in this case) ?

Wide angle lense for Canon

I should be more of an expert with lenses but the information is kind of overwhelming. Some of the pricing doesn't make sense to me. $1200 and it's manual focus only?? This is what google search gave me http://goo.gl/RDVWu

What recommendations can you make? I have a Canon 5D Mk II.

View PDFs in Firefox?

Is there an Add On for Firefox that will let me view a PDF in the browser?

I don't need to edit, alter or convert it to html. I just don't want to download a file and open it in Acrobat. I could swear browsers solved this about a decade ago. I'm not sure what happened.

Manhattanhenge

Twice a year the sun sets at an angle where you can see it set at the end of streets in Manhattan.

It looks best at 42nd Street because of the Tudor Park overpass. I went to 34th Street but next time I'll go to 42nd Street. The last shot is on 42nd Street but it was over by then.

Lost all of my bookmarks

I left the job today and had trouble resetting all the browsers except Safari. I manually deleted the bookmarks and forgot that xmarks would obliterate me at home.

There should be a way to restore them with Time Machine, but I'm not sure what file to restore.

Any suggestions? I have bookmarks accumulated for more than 10 years. This is more than a little bit of an inconvenience.

Color photos from the 1940s

Some of these look like they were painted by the likes of Daumier, Manet. Others look like scenes from the Grapes of Wrath.

Public Enemies movie

I have two comments on this movie.
It's Johnny Depp's best movie since he started prancing around in like a pirate in the Police Academy (I mean Pirates of the Caribbean) movies.

Why did they mess with our heads by casting those two actors from Boardwalk Empire as almost the exact same characters in this movie?

Layer 82 copy 64

Put an end to that shit with one CS5 setting.
I almost cried after reading this.

In CS5 you can finally disable the Add "Copy" to Copied Layers feature. Just click on the icon in the top right of your layer panel and select"Panel Options". In the popup just remove check box near "Add "copy" to Copied Layers..." (Thanks JB for that one!)

Burning DVDs on Mac

I have Memorex blank DVD-Rs that won't mount or do anything in the Finder. I'm on the lastest OSX version, whatever that is. I'm using Roxio Toast, but that's not the issue. The DVD isn't recognized anyway. I know Superdrives are the worst thing Apple ever made, but is there a reliable brand of blank DVD I should look for?
