Best ever? Tough decision, but Everlong - Foo Fighters has gotta be up there. Just watched it again for the first time in a long time.
your NT name Sep 25, 06, 11:23 a.m.
How'd you get it? What's it mean?
Mine started back in the days of AOL. No, scratch that. Back on May 5, 1981. That's when I was born. Fast forward to the days of AOL when I had trouble thinking of a screen name. A buddy suggested Cinco de Mayo, since it was my birthday, and also a mexican holiday (back then we didn't realize that this was a day of drowning your sins and sorrows...we were 11). The rest is history.
Merry Christmas Nov 9, 06, 9:22 a.m.
Wal-Mart: We're not afraid to say Merry Christmas
No. 1 retailer has decided to abandon its generic 'Happy Holidays' greeting in favor of 'Merry Christmas.'
November 9 2006: 12:19 PM EST
NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- Wal-Mart has told its employees that it's OK to once again greet shoppers by saying "Merry Christmas" this holiday season instead of the generic "Happy Holidays."
CNN confirmed that Wal-Mart will announce Thursday that it plans to use the phrase "Merry Christmas" in products and around its stores this holiday season.
The announcement comes a year after religious groups such as The American Family Association and The Catholic League boycotted retailers including Wal-Mart last holiday season for excluding the word "Christmas" from products sold in stores.
"We, quite frankly, have learned a lesson from last year," Wal-Mart spokeswoman Linda Blakley told USA Today in a separate report. "We're not afraid to use the term 'Merry Christmas.' We'll use it early, and we'll use it often."
Besides resurrecting its Christmas pitch, the retailer is also determined to be the leader in this year's holiday price wars.
The November-December holiday shopping period is a critical time for merchants since it can account for as much as 50 percent of their profits and sales.
To that end, Wal-Mart was the first out of the gate to chop prices on toys and electronics much ahead of its competitors like Target (Charts), Toys 'R Us, Costco (Charts) and others.
To support its Christmas deals, the report said Wal-Mart will launch TV ads next week that trumpet "Christmas." It's changing the name of its seasonal decorations department to "The Christmas Shop" from "The Holiday Shop."
Moreover, Wal-Mart stores will play Christmas carols throughout the holiday period and about 60 percent more merchandise will be labeled as "Christmas" rather than "holiday" items, the paper said.
platinum baby Oct 21, 05, 2:16 p.m.
So a friend gave me a Wyclef Jean platinum record that he got while working at MTV. Anyone know where I can sell it and how much I can get for it? Any collectors? I don't really want it anymore.
XBOX 360 Aug 9, 06, 10:15 a.m.
I did it folks. Sold off my PS2 and printer and I have just about all the money I need for a 360.
Tell me everything I should know. I should get the premium version right? Is there enough demos/games in the Marketplace to hold off on buying a game til Madden comes out?
Tell me, oh XBOX brothers...preach the word.
FINANCES Aug 29, 06, 2:25 p.m.
I think I better organize my finances before I get over my head in credit card debt (I'm getting close...)
How do you guys do it? I try to keep receipts, but I don't think throwing them in shoeboxes counts. I have a few credit cards, a debit card, a check book, a bunch of monthly bills...any recommened programs for Mac? I downloaded Turbo Tax last year but I don't know if that helps...
Any ideas?

fast food lunch Jun 19, 06, 11:09 a.m.
Where do you guys go for lunch? I'm trying to hit up the gym more and I'm attempting to eat healthy, but I'm on a designer's budget and need something quick.
Any suggestions?
06 Jetta Sport Mode Jan 17, 06, 12:18 p.m.
Anyone got one? I just traded in my leased 03 Passat this weekend and upgraded? to a 06 Jetta. A lotta fun so far. It's got a sports mode on the shifter. Anyone know what it does? I have an automatic, but it's a new feature, so it's gotta do something. Anyone?
Designer Food Oct 16, 06, 8:51 a.m.
So I'm down to a "designer's salary" and eating on a budget. I stocked up on Lean Cuisine's but sometimes you need something cooked. That's when I resort to "meat & noodles." I grew up on the stuff and it takes like 10 minutes to make.
You'll need:
- ground beef (or turkey)
- forkable noodles (mac or bowtie)
- garlic salt for flavor
- few tbsp olive oil
- squirt of ketchup
First: Boil your noodles and strain. Set aside. Heat oil in pan. While it's heating, spoon in lumps of meat and break with a fork. You can do this by hand too. You want small bits of beef.
Second: meat will start to simmer and brown. While this is happening, season with garlic salt to taste.
Third: Add precooked noodles to pan with beef. Season again with garlic salt. Stir. Put in bowl.
Finally: Add a few squirts of ketchup. Mix everything up.
DEEEEEEELICIOUS! And this should cost you about $3 or $4 bucks, and there's always leftovers.
Any other recipes?
V-day Dinner Feb 13, 08, 11:56 a.m.
I know I'm usually the one posting random food crap, but work is super busy and I need some ideas. Third date tomorrow night...we've already been on 2 really nice ones, so instead I'm cooking dinner. Willing to spend a bit...but it needs to be something I can whip together pretty quick.
I have some ideas so far (jicima apple salad, roasted yams and potatoes, grilled scallops w/ mango salsa, key lime pie...) but I'm looking for other suggestions. Any ideas?
HEAT/MAVS Jun 8, 06, 3:31 p.m.
Game 1.
Lets hear who you want to win.
I've waited 18 years, so I'm going with my Heat. It won't be easy, but if everyone's in top form then it's ours to lose.
Pick my sheets... Jun 18, 06, 11:41 a.m.
So I want to add a little color to my new sheets/blanket. I got a dark khaki color sheet set with a chocolate color quilt blanket. I'm thinking of either adding some white pillows or some light blue ones.
What do you think?
Rep your city! Sep 8, 05, 1:33 p.m.
Sorta. As some of you know I'm putting together a travel magazine. I've posted here before, and I'm still looking for more photographers, writers, designers, etc...
Anyway, I currently need people to represent their city. While I'm located in LA, I do travel a bit, but there are a lot of domestic and international locations I'm unfamiliar with. I'm looking for people to represent their cities and be a contact who can lead me to cool new hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs, sites, etc.
Anyone in? E-mail me at or post up here.
Thanks!

WINE Mar 27, 07, 1:25 p.m.
Teach me oh wise, drunk NTers. I hate wine. Never liked it. But I want to. I really do. I just can't find wine that doesn't taste like wine. I buy wine bottles for their label design, and they sit on my wine rack. Aging.
Can anyone help?
My car lease... Sep 8, 06, 12:48 p.m.
sucks. And it's my fault. I've gotten out of 2 leases early and every time I do so my lease rates go up. I'm happy with my car, and I'll deal with my lease (for another 3.5 years) but have any of you ever taken advantage of those radio commercials where dealerships say they'll pay off your current lease no matter what you owe? Is there a catch?
XBOX 360 Aug 7, 06, 12:13 p.m.
I just saw a video for the new Madden 07 and I'm drooling.
I now want to sell my PS2 and move up to a 360.
What do I need to know? Which package should I get? Will it work on my TV if I don't have an HD set yet? Fill me in.
Oh, and if anyone wants to buy a PS2 will a bunch of newer sports games, internet adaptor and like 4 controllers, let the bidding begin.
