I'm doing it all wrong:
Ten years ago I started selling shoes on eBay when I stumbled upon a bunch of vintage Nikes at a local swap meet. I emptied out my checking account (a whopping $300) and bought as many pairs as I could afford. I rushed home to my one-bedroom-apartment and listed the shoes on eBay. Week after week, I went back to the swap meet and bought more Nikes. Eventually, the swap meet vendor disappeared, never to be seen or heard from again. So I had to figure out where I was going to get my inventory of Nikes from. Over the years, I have bought and sold hundreds of thousands of Nike Shoes. My business grew from a one-bedroom-apartment, into a two-bedroom-apartment, into a storage locker, into eight storage lockers, and eventually into the warehouse where I am presently. I decided that the best use of my giant warehouse and my profits that I have worked so hard for, was to build the most comprehensive collection of Nike shoes and put them on display for the world to enjoy. So one by one, I built this amazing collection. All of the shoes are in my size (11-12). All of the shoes are deadstock with their original boxes. And all of the shoes have been professionally shrink wrapped for their protection. The shoes have been placed on display with toys and props that are meant to bring the collection to life. The shoes were mainly purchased on eBay and Flightclub, as well as at Footlocker, Sportie LA, Niketown, and Nike Outlets all across the United States. The toys and props were all purchased at the same swap meet where my business got started.

Montreal Hotel/Accommodations Dec 13, 10, 11:43 a.m.
Benfal and my other QBN Québécois brethren and anyone else with the knowledge I am seeking. The GF and I were look for somewhere to stay in Montreal that isn't your standard hotel, something with a little more posh or style. A boutique hotel experience, I suppose. Something more memorable than your Hilton's and Delta's of the world.
I thought http://www.hotellecrystal.com/en… looked cool/stylish, but still a bit too hotel like possibly. I really like http://lofthotel.ca/en/ , if there's something similar to this, that'd be amazing. Basically something equivalent to The Drake here in Toronto, http://www.thedrakehotel.ca/hote… or The Gladstone http://www.gladstonehotel.com/ .
Thanks so much!

Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games Branding Sep 29, 10, 12:43 p.m.
Toronto PanAm Games 2015 branding unveiled, co-created by Endeavor and Trajectory —
Brand Guidelines:
Site:
http://www.toronto2015.org/
Reminds me of the London Games for some reason. The logic:
"vibrant, curved design...inspired by the figurative styles of pre-Columbian aboriginal art forms throughout the Pan Americas. It also draws on ancient sport traditions—specifically the Mezzo-Americans [sic] (including Aztec and Mayan cultures), which are linked to the first use of rubber balls in sport as early as 1600 BC."
It's a tough job to please everybody and I don't hate it, but I can see why many would. Like others have said, it's kinda blubbery.
Microsoft Sharepoint, how customizable is it? Sep 24, 10, 6:31 a.m.
Hey, I've done some recent identity work with a company that uses a separate company for Web Dev. I wanted to integrate the work I've done into their site and redesign some elements of the site to better suit the re-branding.
I'm sorry that I can't link anything (NDA and all that), but the Dev company is saying that I can't do any of the updates to the site because it will fuck up what they've done using Sitepoint and that Sitepoint doesn't allow for this change.
I'm calling total bullshit on these hacks and think they might be after the work I've done with said company.
I'm not very knowledgeable about Sitepoint, but what I've read seems like the things I wanna do are possible and the case is that the dev company wants more of their business and me outta the picture. Thoughts? How can I tell my client that what they're saying is a pant load and what we were proposing can in fact happen.
Happy friday to you all and cheers in advance!

Thought it was a pretty nice redesign, show's their work well and the jquery showcase section is nice and smooth. Simple and put's the work upfront.
Thoughts?
XML Help Nov 15, 09, 11:29 a.m.
Hi, I think I've been staring at this too long, for some reason the second < linksitem > isn't showing up.
I'm not sure if it's an error in the code or maybe the text is too wide for what I've allowed in the .fla, but some of it should show up in that case.
Here's the XML: http://pastebin.com/m2dc356ee
Any help is greatly appreciated. Cheers in advance!

XML / Flash help, please. Sep 15, 09, 8:42 a.m.
Hi, for some reason I'm not able to bold text in flash when I add tags to it in the XML.
Here's what the XML looks like:

<itemContainer>

<teaser>Blurb about personalizing your phone and using all the awesome features...</teaser>
<detail>
<itemDetail>Create a device that suits your style by using the personalization features!</itemDetail>
<itemDetail>Put applications at your fingertips. Select Go to > Options > Select options and choose the applications you want in the menu.</itemDetail>
</detail>

</itemContainer>
and here's the bit of action script calling it into the flash file:
Object.Main = this;
onLoad.moveButtons(0);
function galleryChoice(q) {
tArray = new Array();
titleArray = new Array();
detailItems = new Array();
detailArray= new Array();
my_xml = new XML();
for (var j = 0; j<curLength; j++) {
this.th_nav["thmb"+j].removeMovi...
}
my_xml.ignoreWhite = true;
my_xml.onLoad = function(loaded) {
if (loaded) {
gallery = this.childNodes[q];
curLength = gallery.childNodes.length;
trace(curLength)
_root.totalItemLength = curLength
_root.bigPanel = 0
for (var i = 0; i<gallery.childNodes.length; i++) {
tArray.push(gallery);
titleArray.push(gallery.childNod...
}
}
delay = setInterval(makeButtons, 50);
};
my_xml.load("xml/XMLtext.xml");
}
function makeButtons() {
tnNr = 0;
clearInterval(delay);
for (var i = 0; i<tArray.length; i++) {
_root.panelHeight = 0
var thb = bt_p.attachMovie("itemBox_mov", "thmb"+i,i, {_y:(i*29)})
thb.featureText.text = titleArray[i];
detailItems = gallery.childNodes[i].firstChild...
trace(detailItems)
for (var j = 0; j<detailItems.length; j++) {
detailArray = detailItems
var detailBox_MC = thb.contentBox.attachMovie("deta... "detailBox"+j,j, {_y:_root.panelHeight})
detailBox_MC.featureDetailText.h... = detailArray[j]
detailBox_MC.featureDetailText.s...
detailBox_MC.featureDetailText.a... ="center"
_root.panelHeight = _root.panelHeight + detailBox_MC.featureDetailText... + 5
trace("DETAIL"+j+": "+detailArray[j])
trace("this: "+detailBox_MC.featureDetailText...
}
_root.bigPanel = 50 + _root.panelHeight
thb.featureNumHigh.text = _root.bigPanel
_root.distanceMove = 183
_root.buttonBG_height = 183
_root.thisSelected = 0
moveButtons(0)
}
loadButtons();
}
Anything jump out at anybody? It's probably something stupid, but I'm not the greatest at flash.

Thanks and hope you enjoy!
Pitchfork: The Top 500 Tracks of the 2000s Aug 17, 09, 7:45 a.m.
"Since Pitchfork has been around for all of the 2000s, we're taking the opportunity to put together a detailed and wide-ranging story-- as told in four lists, four essays, and a timeline of events-- of what happened in music in the last 10 years. About what you'd get from a print magazine, but it's free and you won't throw it out the next time you move."
This is 500-201:
http://pitchfork.com/features/st…
Posting the rest later this week. I think it's somewhat impossible to truly list a top 500, but it's a good way to find new/old/undiscovered music.
